NRA Defensive Pistol Course

Price: $130.00

This is a great course for persons who want to be prepared for an incident within their home. Topics include basic defensive pistol skills, firearms and the law, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, selecting a pistol for self defense and more. Students will complete a written exam and several shooting drills.

Students need to be experienced shooters as this is not a fundamentals course. Proof of experience is a prerequisite to take this course. Proof of experience includes completion of the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting (Instructor-Led) course, NRA First Steps Pistol Orientation Course, NRA Pistol Competitive Qualification Card, military DD214 with pistol qualification or passing the Pre-Course Assessment with us.

You need to be at least 18 years old to take this course.

Course location: Right to Carey Guns, 108 Gateway Hills Lane., Granbury Texas 76049.

Class size: Class is limited to 6 students.

Sunday and Monday Classes: NO minimum number of students is required.

Tuesday thru Thursday and Saturday Classes: A minimum of 4 students are required.

Course dates:

• Monday March 9, 2026.
• Sunday March 22, 2026.
• Saturday March 28, 2026 (4 students required).

We also offer private classes at no additional charge.

Cost: $160 Per person (includes range fees). A $40.00 (non-refundable) deposit is required to reserve your seat. If you cannot make your scheduled day the deposit will be applied to the next available class. Once enrolled you will receive a registration verification email from us, payment options and a list of items needed for the course.
