Texas License to Carry Course (LTC)

Although Texas no longer requires the LTC to carry your firearm, there are advantages to having the LTC that those without one do not have. These advantages include campus carry, trespass protection, protection if carrying past no gun signs as well as the ability to carry in over 30 states (Reciprocity).

There are two options to obtain your LTC.

Complete the classroom portion online. This gives you the option to complete the majority of the requirements at your own pace. Once complete, print your certificate and schedule with an LTC instructor to complete the shooting qualification.
The second option is to complete the entire course, in-person with an LTC instructor. This is done in the traditional classroom/range environment with an instructor.

MSD Defense offers both the in-person course and the online classroom portion (Hosted by Texas Carry Academy).

Course location: Right to Carey 108 Gateway Hills Lane Granbury, Texas. Located at Carey & Sons Marine.

Cost: In-person course $110.00 (Inlcudes range fees).

Class size: In-person course is limited to 12 students.

Online classroom portion $49.00. Select online classes in drop-down menu to sign up. Once complete print your certificate and contact us to schedule the shooting qualification.

Shooting qualification $40.00 (IF online portion completed through MSD Defense).

Shooting qualification $45.00 (IF online portion completed through another site).

You will need a firearm (Semi-auto or revolver) in good working order and 50-rounds of ammunition. No reloads or manufactured ammunition. Factory ammo only.

If you do not have your own firearm we have several 9MM handguns you can use (At no charge) to qualify however you must provide your own ammunition.

No optics that magnify the target are allowed. Optics that do not magnify the target (Red dots, green dots etc.) are allowed.

A $30.00 deposit is required for the In-person course. Contact us for payment options.
